Many seem to think that if they live by Christian principles, they do not need to repent of sin. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us” (1 John 1:8 NKJV). It’s true that ungodly people may do good, but it is not true that ungodly people who do good do not need to be converted to Jesus Christ. God’s “grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17 NKJV), but He taught that all must “Repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15 NKJV). Jesus said: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16 NKJV), which allows God to work “in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ” (Hebrews 13:21 NKJV). Jesus also said, “without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5 NKJV).
