Solomon said, “A righteous man regards the life of his animal” (Proverbs 12:10 NKJV). Certainly, animal cruelty often shows someone who will be cruel to people. When God told Israelites, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain” (Deuteronomy 25:4 NKJV), the Apostle Paul later adds, “Is it oxen God is concerned about? Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope” (1 Corinthians 9:9-10 NKJV). The lesson is, don’t be cruel to either man or beast! But it works the other way, too. When 57 million government-approved and funded abortions have happened since 1973, no wonder there is cruelty to animals!
