The New Testament writers, “did not follow cunningly devised fables” (2 Peter 1:16 NKJV) when they wrote about Jesus Christ. A “fable” is a “myth, fairy tale, or falsehood.” “And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn” (Luke 2:7 NKJV). Shepherds were told: “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11 NKJV). “And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger” (Luke 2:16 NKJV). They praised “God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them” (Luke 2:20 NKJV). The day of His birth is given, a date of December 25 was not. Going beyond God’s Word is unscriptural!
