12-4-2017   False Teachers “Suppose” Their Doctrine

It is a false teacher who “does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ” and are “men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself” (1 Timothy 6:3-5 NKJV).  False teachers: (1) refuse to accept Jesus’ “wholesome” doctrine, such as, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16 NKJV)(2) are corrupt in mind, and void of “the truth,” and therefore “turn the grace of our God into lewdness and deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ” (Jude 1:4 NKJV); (3) “Suppose” their doctrine is right while it is contrary to plain, Bible teaching, such as: being a Christian but not in the church of Christ; being saved before being baptized into Jesus’ death; worshiping God with entertainment and not sacrifices.
