4-28-2016 Contradictions #4

“But if any lasting harm follows, then you shall give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, “burn for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe” (Exodus 21:23-25 NKJV).  Jesus taught, “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also” (Matthew 5:38-39 NKJV).  Did God contradict Himself?  No.  In Exodus, Moses was giving “the judgments which you shall set before them” (Exodus 21:1 NKJV).  This predetermined legal justice.  Jesus, however, was giving His New Law for personal retaliation.  There is a difference in what a court should do and what individuals may do.  Revenge belongs to God! Christians and Muslims are different!
