The Bible is a “Comparative Religion” textbook which shows the history of people who compared their “gods” with The God. When the Egyptian “gods” were compared to the LORD, He said, “against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD” (Exodus 12:12 NKJV). “For the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom the LORD had killed among them. Also on their gods the LORD had executed judgments” (Numbers 33:4 NKJV). The king of Assyria said, “Were the gods of the nations of those lands in any way able to deliver their lands out of my hand?” (2 Chronicles 32:13 NKJV), but “the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria” (2 Chronicles 32:22 NKJV). “There is no God besides Me” (Isaiah 45:5 NKJV).
