The wonderful thing about being a member of Christ’s body is how your brothers and sisters are always showing their love and devotion to Christ.
A brother called the church office today asking for an addition to be put into the bulletin’s prayer list. Some folks may think this is a trifle, but it isn’t. It’s an expression of love for others and a verification of his belief in the power of prayer to God.
This brother wouldn’t like it if his name were used in any article, so suffice it to say he has always been this caring gentleman. He always has a warm, hearty greeting for everyone on Sunday morning. He listens carefully to all the complaints people have. He’s genuinely interested in their well-being and in their problems.
In other words, he reminds everyone of the Lord Jesus.
He embodies the words of the Apostle Peter, who wrote, “Seeing you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God which liveth and abideth forever,” (1 Peter 1:22-23).
