A sense of awe

“To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.” (Acts 26:22-23 ESV)

O LORD my God, we come into your presence with a sense of awe as we think about the many and various ways that you have preserved our life to this new day. Thank you, dear Heavenly Father, for your constant ability to forgive us of our sins. Give us more of the wisdom of Christ so that we will be able to forgive others as we are taught. Embolden all workers for the Lord who labor near or far away so that the light of the gospel will be presented in truth and love. Silence those who minimize the importance of the very real and agonizing death that Christ endured in order to purchase us out of slavery to sin. We pray in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
