We have several practices that I would consider different from what we do traditionally.I base that on the practices of the congregation I grew up in.
The first is that once a month, we have a fellowship meal. No biggie, but immediately afterwards, we have our second worship service and then adjourn for the day. So that one Sunday a month, we don’t meet at our normal 6:30pm.
The second is that we offer the opportunity to give along with taking communion on Sunday nights. I had never seen this done anywhere before here.
The last, and probably most unique, is that on Sunday mornings, we worship first and then have Bible classes. At first I thought this was the most odd thing I’d ever seen, but I actually like it. It puts the emphasis of our assembling on worship.
