Mt. 11:2-6; Lk 7:18-23
John the Baptist had been put into prison. About six months later, he sent two of his disciples who had heard the sermon on the mount to ask about Jesus. It may have been because of prison conditions that John’s faith wavered to some extent. However, John wanted to know if Jesus was the Coming One, or was there someone else.
After John’s disciples had observed Him again, Jesus told them to, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”
