Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. (James 4:13-14 ESV)
O LORD my God, thank you, dear Father, in heaven, for the pure love you demonstrate for underserving humanity on each and every new day as you patiently wait for repentance to come into sincere hearts. Open the closed minds of many even today who refuse to acknowledge your beloved Son whom you have appointed over all things in heaven and earth. Arouse the sleeping energy among the Church for which Christ died so that more attention will be given to saving souls who are presently doomed for a hopeless eternity because of their refusal to trust and obey Jesus as Lord. Help the people who are responding to the physical needs of their neighbors even at risk to their own health during this coronavirus pandemic. Protect the minds of believers so that we will not allow daily news events to drag us down into the negative attitude of people without hope. Give us wisdom during this time as we press hard to control our emotions. We pray fervently in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
