Arrogant false sense of who we are

Thus says the Lord:“Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool;what is the house that you would build for me,and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be,declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look:he who is humble and contrite in spiritand trembles at my word. (Isaiah 66:1-2 ESV)

O LORD our God ~ thank you for the invigorating gift of life that flows through our veins and the faith tucked away in the deepest recesses of our heart of hearts. We give you the highest praise for you are great and awesome beyond all human understanding. Give us courage and wisdom as we read and discover your will for our lives in this age of the glorious Church which Christ bought with his own blood. Strike us to the ground if we become puffed up with an arrogant false sense of who we are as creatures in need of your constant guidance. In the precious name of our Lord Jesus, Amen.
