As we exhaust ourselves

Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’If you take away the yoke from your midst, the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darknessand your gloom be as the noonday. (Isaiah 58:9-10 ESV)

O LORD my God, thank you for this new day that arrives with blessings to delight the mind and body of those who trust in your steadfast love that endures to all generations. Cleanse our minds as we trust in your beloved Son – our strong deliverer who helps us to walk and talk according to the teaching and perfect example and pattern for our lives. Give us renewed strength as we exhaust ourselves in paying attention to the needy and afflicted among our neighbors. Make the deeds of your saints become a blazing light to draw souls to Christ as Lord. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
