Paul’s Defense (22:1-21). With the opportunity to make a defense, Paul testified of his conversion and commission to be a witness to all people.
The Roman Commander Questions Paul (22:22-29). After mentioning how the Lord had sent him to be a messenger to the Gentiles, the crowd protested, and the commanding officer questioned Paul.
Paul Before the Sanhedrin (22:30). Wanting to know the true reason Paul was being accused by the Jews, the commanding officer arranged for Paul to stand before the Sanhedrin.
Practical Lessons: (1) To persecute the Way is to persecute the Lord Jesus. (2) Baptism is connected to having one’s sins washed away and calling on the name of the Lord.
