1. Jesus is greater than the angels and He has taken a significant interest in His creation. Is he greater than Moses, however? The answer to that is yes, just as the builder of a house is greater than a house, and he is most certainly greater than a servant in the house, of which Moses was one.
2. Jesus is greater than angels (who mediated the Law of Moses), He is greater than Moses (who gave the Law to the Israelites), and He has taken an interest in man. With all this before us, why a slow response? Because some live as others did. While in the wilderness, serving the god of this world, their hearts are hardened.
3. On the other hand, those who harden not their hearts can be part of the house of the Lord (cf. 1 Timothy 3:14-15) if they hold fast those things the Holy Spirit said we are to embrace.
4. For some, it is a dull matter to read the Old Testament, but this sentiment does not have its basis in spiritually sound reasoning. The Lord has this for us to learn, and we will do well to listen (cf. Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 10:11).
