I. See that no one leads you astray (13:1-23). There are many people who desire to be led; Satan knows this and sends out his messengers (2 Corinthians 2:11). During the time in which the Lord spoke these words, His message to first century disciples was to be on guard, for Satan will do what he can to devour.
II. The Lord’s judgment (13:24-37). A continuation of the Lord’s warning to His disciples to stay at the ready, be on guard. When the Lord brings judgment, He will bring judgment in a two-fold way. First, there is the judgment that will (did) come against Jerusalem (13:30). Second, there is the judgment to come (John 5:28-29; 2 Corinthians 5:10).
