It is sometimes frustrating to us when we think that we are ineffective at teaching men and women the Lord Jesus, converting them. We are frustrated and we are very much free to roam as we choose. Paul, on the other hand, was in prison and he had his own frustrations. Whatever they were, still he did the Lord’s work, and while in chains he was able to teach a runaway slave (1:10; cf. Philippians 1:7, 12-14). Whatever our frustrations or limitations might be, let us remember that we, too, can do the Lord’s work.
