Without question (at least to me), when a riddle gives multiple clues to the answer it seems as if the riddle becomes more difficult to figure out. See if that logic works out with this riddle:
Four hang, four sprang, two point the way, two to ward off dogs, one dangles after, always rather dirty. What am I?
The scripture reference that makes up the Bible clue actually has less verses (but not words) than the actual riddle has clues, so I think that may put the odds in your favor. The clue is found in Amos 4:1-5.
