Bring us to our knees

Thus says the Lord: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the Lord who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24 ESV)

O LORD God, our kind and merciful Father in heaven ~ thank you for this new day that dawns with brand-new blessings and huge challenges for those who sincerely follow your Son. Bring us to our knees whenever we begin to think we are wise in our own eyes, or that our physical well-being is due to our superior genetic makeup, or that we are the very epitome of the self-made man. Help me dear Lord to completely appreciate, long for and trust in your perfect wisdom in all things. Guide my every decision today and always so that I will practice the most liberal form of doing righteous deeds with the purest motive of your everlasting love. Lord, you own the cattle on a thousand hills, and nothing good is impossible for you. Help all my brothers and sisters in Jesus to make and execute greater and more noble plans to spread the knowledge of your supernal heavenly kingdom to every person on the earth during this generation. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
