Cause it to rain

So Paul, standing in the midst of the Areopagus, said: “Men of Athens, I perceive that in every way you are very religious. For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. (Acts 17:22-23 ESV)

O LORD my great and mighty God of all that exists! Thank you, dear Father, in heaven for opening the minds of those souls who ponder over the great things of this universe and human life. Make a wide-open door for people who do not yet know the truth that your beloved Son is Lord and Christ. Help your people to announce clearly that He who brings salvation for all people on earth must be acknowledged from hearts ready to repent and turn to Jesus as Lord. We know that all things are possible for you O God, so we boldly ask that you cause it to rain on places where our brothers and sisters are in great danger from fires and droughts. Give wisdom to the President of the United States as well as leaders of all other nations so that the peace of Christ will be allowed to flourish on earth according to your time table. Forgive our sinful thoughts, words, and deeds as we, in turn, forgive the ones who have done us the greatest harm. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
