Instead of adding to God’s Word by celebrating a manmade “birthday of Jesus” today, we can learn how to identify the body of Christ, the church. So, how can we recognize the Lord’s church from the thousands of other religious bodies in existence?
In Gen. 1:11, 12, we see that God created vegetation to produce seed and to reproduce after its kind. If it were possible to have a viable grain of wheat that was produced at the beginning and plant it today, it would produce an identical wheat plant that would in turn reproduce other identical wheat plants.
Jesus referred to the Word of God as seed in Lk. 8:11. WHEN THAT SAME IDENTICAL SEED IS SOWN IN FERTILE HEARTS TODAY, IT YIELDS THE SAME IDENTICAL FRUIT AFTER ITS KIND AS IT DID WHEN THE CHURCH FIRST BEGAN IN ACTS 2:1-47. IT WILL CONTINUE TO YIELD THAT SAME IDENTICAL FRUIT THROUGHOUT THE NEW TESTAMENT ERA UNTIL THE END OF THE EARTH. That fruit is known as CHRISTIANS.
