Encouragement Note August 2019

BY CHRISTOPHER UNDERWOOD — Sometimes a song can help remind us to trust in the Lord. So many times in the Bible we hear of singing that encourages the people to trust in God’s power to deliver from physical loss or danger.

Instead of singing only on Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Wednesday evening choose to sing aloud at least once a day to the Lord.

It will increase your faith when you have success of a new job, high grades in school, or the birth of a new child. It will increase your faith when you are living through the death of a loved one, the loss of health, or financial pain.

Find one or seven songs that you can carry in your heart each week. I believe and trust that God will strengthen your in faith, in word and in deed.

Here is a starter song for Saturday. (Lyrics by Don Moen)

Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
Let the poor say, “I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us”
And now let the weak say, “I am strong”
Let the poor say, “I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us
Give Thanks”

Have a great day.
