Excuses – JAM

A transient was unable to leave a tip for a waitress at a Salt Lake City restaurant, so he told her, “I’m going to go rob a bank and I’ll be right back”, and that is exactly what he did.  He walked across the street and held up the First Interstate Bank, robbing it of $1200 in cash. He then walked back across the street and left a $2 tip. Police arrested him as he came out of the eatery. There are lots of excuses that we might use to justify doing what we know is wrong, but even if we are motivated by good, it doesn’t turn an excuse into a reason. “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap.” Too many are sowing to the wind and then praying for a crop failure. At the end of time, when the harvest time arrives, if you would reap the blessings of God and a heavenly eternity, try sowing goodness. This is Just-a-minute with Ed Boggess
