Of all my favorite Psalms, the one that rises to the top of the list is Psalm 90.
Moses placed himself on a level with God because of the rebellion of the children of Israel (Numbers 20:10). As a consequence of Moses’ failure to set God apart as the Lord, the shepherd of God’s people would not be allowed to go over to the Promised Land.
Moses wrote, “Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, you are God,” (Psalm 90:1-2 ESV).
So much of Psalm 90 is written to glorify God’s eternality.
Makes me think Moses learned his lesson. Makes me think I may yet learn mine.
