II Sam. 13:1-39
The events that Nathan had prophesied against David began to unfold. His son, Amnon developed an unlawful and immoral desire for his sister, Tamar. That lust eventually led to her being raped by Amnon.
Sins usually beget other sins. Even though angered by his son’s action, David apparently took no corrective action. Two years later, Absalom, being filled with hate for Amnon’s sin against his sister arranged to have his brother killed. Following Amnon’s death, Absalom fled from his father and brothers to Geshur, Syria to Talmai, his maternal grandfather.
