Mt. 8:1-13; Lk. 7:1-10
Armies of that day were divided into groups of one hundred soldiers. One of the persons who had heard of His miracles was a centurion who commanded one of these companies. He did not feel worthy to meet Jesus or to have Him come into his home, but sent messengers to speak with Him.
The centurion’s messengers begged Jesus to just say the word and his servant, who was paralyzed and in great pain would be healed. Because of the centurion’s faith, his servant was healed that same hour.
