Fritz Weber of Bamburg Germany wanted to walk…

Fritz Weber of Bamburg, Germany wanted to walk on water. He constructed a set of special shoes made of large sheets of metal designed to stay on top of the water. He intended to make it all the way to Frankfurt, a 310 mile journey. Things didn’t turn out so well for Fritz. He didn’t get very far on his water-walking shoes. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone came along and suggested this is how Jesus walked on water. There seems to be a mind-set that is bent on questioning every miracle and reducing it to some clever deceit. But there were no submerged sandbars, no stumps and no trickery. Jesus walked on water because he is the Son of God. Rob the gospel of its miracles and you rob it of its power. Upon the ultimate miracle, the resurrection, rests the anchor for our souls.
