That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification. (Romans 4:22-25)
Dear Heavenly Father ~ O LORD, we honor your name as holy and your word as righteous and trustworthy to guide obedient souls into eternal life. Thank you Lord for such an expensive, and loving sacrificial gift that you made by giving your Son to be a worthy substitute for the sins of the whole world. We also want to thank you for the solid hope we have of life after death because Christ rose from death on the third day after death on the cruel cross. Help us to have faith like our servant Abraham who trusted that you would provide a sacrifice. Embolden those who preach the gospel to never apologize for the power of the cross and how we are justified by our obedient belief in your power to make us new with hope of an eternal home in your presence. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
