Humble us by your power

But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 18:13-14 ESV)

O LORD God, our dear Father in heaven ~ have mercy upon everyone who realizes that we have no sacrifice that is so valuable to impress you – our mighty and glorious God. Lord, if we cannot learn the lesson of humility that our Lord Jesus Christ teaches, then humble us by your unfathomable power so that we will be made to behave as good and faithful humble servants. In the precious name of Jesus who taught pure love by serving all humanity we pray, Amen.
