As Jesus came to Cana of Galilee, the city where He had turned water into wine, He met a nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. We do not know his name, but he was probably an officer of the Herod, who had put John the Baptist in prison. While he was pleading for Him to heal his dying son, Jesus said, “Go your way; your son lives.”
Believing that Jesus had healed his son, the nobleman returned home. On the way, he met his servants who had good news, “Your son lives!” The son’s fever had left him the day before at the same time that Jesus had told him that his son lives. Because of this miracle, he and his whole household believed in Jesus.
