A courtroom decision made by flipping a coin is more accurate than one based on the judgment of psychologists and psychiatrists according to a study by Brown University psychologist David Faust and California lawyer Jay Ziskin. They concluded that they were wrong at least twice as often as they were correct in predicting violent behavior and that untrained jurists could do as well or better making judgments. But does it make any difference? Of course, it makes a difference. It makes a difference in the courtroom, in the classroom, and in every room. If your future and your life is on the line, truth makes a difference! We all realize how important truth is until we come to religion. There is the strange idea that error makes no difference in religion and as long as one is sincere everything will be alright. But Jesus says, “And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” This is Just-A-Minute.
