Last year Pope Benedict named three new saints during a Mass in St. Peter’s Square. Canonized were three 19th century founders of religious orders: Italian Monsignor Guido Conforti and Luigi Guanella and Spanish Sister Bonifacia de Castro. I will never found a religious order nor be canonized in St. Peter’s Square, I am no less a saint than Guido or Luigi. I am not a saint because the Pope says I am, I am a saint because the Holy Spirit declares that every Christian a saint. But don’t light a candle and pray to me, alive or dead. The scripture also says we have one mediator between man and God and He is Jesus Christ. Thus I pray “in Jesus name”, not through Mary or Guido or Luigi. So the apostle Paul declared: “whatever you do in word or deed (including prayer), do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” This is Just-a-Minute with Ed Boggess
