Leviticus 22

  1. Things dedicated to the Lord were holy and nothing unholy is to be connected (22:1-16). Offerings that are given to the Lord will meet the Lord’s criteria, and not the individual worshiper.
  2. Application: The Lord desires that those who worship Him do so in spirit and truth. While this was spoken by the Lord Jesus (John 4), it has really always been that way. The spirit of a person is to have sanctified the Lord in his (her) heart, offering to Him who is holy only that which He wants. To compromise is to presume, and Aaron’s son learned a hard lesson about that.
