Losing track of time

“In the way of your testimonies I delight as much as in all riches. I will meditate on your precepts and fix my eyes on your ways.  I will delight in your statutes; I will not forget your word,” (Psalm 119:14-16 ESV).

There are two ways for me to lose track of time: worship and study of God’s word.

It hasn’t always been like that. In my youth it seemed to me that worship dragged on incessantly. Now, however, I love to hear good preaching and take notes and wish I had access to reference books while its being done. The same was true for study. But, now, digging deeply into God’s word is like a great adventure to me.

My attitude changed. My education resumed when I was in my forties and it was at a Bible college. There, good men ignited and fueled a fire inside me to learn more of God’s word. Now, time in Bible study and worship fly. There are not enough hours in the day for the sunsets and night comes much sooner. Yet, there are still opportunities, still lessons, still time.

Do you not care much for Bible study or worship? Do what I did. Change your attitude. It’ll amaze you how wonderful an experience both will become.
