Mar. 1. Jesus Preaches to the Multitudes

Mt. 11:7-30; Lk. 7:24-35

As John’s messengers left, Jesus began to make some observations about John. He stated that the prophets had said that John would go before Him and prepare His way.

To show the importance of the kingdom of heaven, He said that no one had been born of woman greater than John the Baptist, but even the least in the kingdom of heaven would be greater than he.

Jesus addressed the sins of the people living in Galilee. He even said that it would be more tolerable in the judgment for the cities destroyed in the Old Testament era than for the cities of Galilee. The cities of Galilee had the benefit of hearing Him teach, whereas, those in the Old Testament did not hear Jesus.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden (with sin), and I will give you rest (relief through forgiveness). Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke (service) is easy and My burden is light.”
