Nov. 17. Beginning of Journey and Rebellion

Deut. 1:6-46

Moses began with the departure of the Israelites from Egypt and reviewed the events leading to God’s refusal to allow their fathers to enter into Canaan. He mentioned the system of government that they had. God was their Supreme Leader with Moses being His spokesman. Judges were appointed to assist Moses in his work. There were also various lesser leaders over smaller groups of the people. It was pointed out to the people how that their fathers had refused to believe that God would protect them and deliver the Promised Land to them.
