When working in Russia, I had a couple of experiences. First, landing at Kennedy, we had almost landed when the pilot abruptly pulled up. We sailed low out over the ocean, made another circle and landed. Pilot said there was something wrong with the landing gear light. While flying in Russia itself, you had to get used to dogs flying with you; German Shepherd walking the isle, and vodka drinking pilots – made for an interesting flight! I soon learned to take the train.
