Numbers 27

  1. This chapter has two noteworthy incidents. First, there is the land inheritance associated with women when there are no men (sons) of the deceased. Second, the Lord tells Moses that he is to prepare for his own passing.
  2. Application: There are two simple points of application to make here. First, there is the point of inheritance. Since we have an inheritance that is incorruptible, if there is no “son” present to receive the inheritance will it be lost? The biblical answer is no (1 Peter 1:3-5). A second point of application is in who our leaders are. Moses was “going the way of all the earth,” there needed to be one to lead the nation after him. With New Testament Christians, our Leader has gone the way of heaven, sitting on His throne.
