Numbers 29

The sacrificial system was at the heart of Hebrew worship. The Israelite who offered a sacrifice, especially an animal sacrifice, offered to God that which he desired for God to receive. The only way to know for certain whether or not God would receive it was if God revealed His will. Having done so, it would have been the height of presumption to alter the Lord’s wish. Yet, today, many take that tract in life and convince themselves all is well.
