But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV)
O LORD my God ~ thank you for allowing us to see the spectacular dawning of another new day. Hear our prayers as we come to you as infants not always knowing what should be our most urgent request. You know our hearts and our spiritual condition as well as the cries of those in despair over what they believe is the imminent threat of death. Help us not to spend anytime time languishing in self-pity regarding the prevalent evil surrounding us each day. Lord, help us to be prepared in mind and body to live as if this is the day we will meet Christ in person as we long to see him face to face. Give us wisdom to recognize evil influence when it appears so we will be prepared to warn our loved ones to choose a better way. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
