Prayer needs to be restored. It needs to be taught. It needs to be practiced. I have attended Bible classes where the only prayer would be the dismissal prayer at the end of the service. I still like the sound of the Wednesday night prayer meeting, where brethren come together and actually pray. Recently I approached a young man who seldom participates in the service, about putting his name on the duty list to lead a closing prayer on Sunday nights occasionally. He said, basically, he didn’t know how and didn’t like to speak in front of people. Thinking I would help him, I posted a chart on the back of our bulletin on praying, which I will try to insert here. (Hope all my trials do not show up at one time!)
Prayer has been such a vital part of my life, from my teenage years until now. We need to be teaching our children the importance of prayer and leading by example.
