Preacher’s Retreat

I have often teased Stephen that we need to take up a collection so he can get a new Bible. Clearly, a well used bible it is!

Like me, Stephen would be lost without it. Just think of all the notes and cross-references that’s in that Bible. Irreplaceable!

  Yes, no doubt that is true. Let me offer a “however,” however. If one were to start with a new Bible, think of the test that would result in one’s study without the “crutch” of previous notes. That was my challenge to me. I relate with Stephen’s Bible very much (though my notes did not even come close to the quantity of his). Stephen has earned respect for two reasons: his character, his knowledge (from his study).

  At this time I was on a “low.” The picture actually turned out better than I thought. I have a way with messing things up like that.
