God answered Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for possessions, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, and have not even asked for long life, but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may rule my people over whom I have made you king, wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like.” (2 Chronicles 1:11-12 NRSV)
O LORD my God ~ thank you dear Father in heaven for always being present with attentive ears – when we realize we have many things to rejoice about and even when we may feel discouraged and defeated. Lord, we are seldom worthy of your never ending love and all the kind deeds you shower upon your children of faith. Give us a portion of the superior wisdom of Christ that is far greater than that of Solomon on his greatest day. Teach us to take stock of our small contributions for the spread of the gospel of the Kingdom of Christ. Help us to focus on better ways to reach lost souls with the message of salvation. Forgive us Lord for times when we felt too tired or too busy with mundane circumstance instead of sharing the bread of life with a neighbor. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
