Struggling with addictive sinful behaviors

For“Whoever desires to love lifeand see good days, let him keep his tongue from eviland his lips from speaking deceit;let him turn away from evil and do good;let him seek peace and pursue it.For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” (1 Peter 3:10-12 ESV)

Dear heavenly Father ~ thank you dear Lord, for reaching out to us by your deeds of love when we were without hope. Hear the prayers of those who have lost their way in this life, to find their way back to the great Shepherd of the sheep. Help those who are struggling with various addictive sinful behaviors so that they will turn to Christ who lifts us up from the slimy pit and stands us on our feet again when we sincerely repent. Give all Christians a heart of compassion toward lost souls so that they will see Jesus in us and desire to also be like Christ with the convicting help of your Spirit. Defeat all the deceitful efforts of Satan to turn good into evil. In the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
