I am fed up with the ACLU protecting my rights, with Hollywood redefining our morals, with left wing activists demanding center stage, with a president who doesn’t know the difference between what is natural and what is perverse. As homosexuality gains increasing acceptance in America, one wonders how big a closet they emptied out of. OK, I grew up with Father Knows Best, Leave It To Beaver and Ozzie and Harriet. The current generation believes they have progressed beyond these old-fashioned stereotypes, but what they claim is progress is actually a free fall towards hell! What’s wrong with Ozzie loving Harriet instead of Harry? What’s wrong with a marriage that strengthens and a love that deepens as the years pass by? What’s wrong with a mother who focuses first on her family and home? If you ask me, I’ll go with the old-fashioned stereotypes! This is Just-A-Minute.
I was not surprised to see the ACLU listed as a supporter for Fred Phelps and his little band of sign-waving disciples singing “you’re going to hell” and “God hates you” while they disrupt the funeral of a fallen soldier. It is just another in an endless string of wrong-headed positions. In fact it is almost to the point that if the ACLU supports it, level-headed folks can assume they are against it before they even know what the question it. I looked up “civil” and it means “accommodating” or “genteel”. I see nothing of the kind in Phelps or the ACLU. As for Phelps, he is rude and crude. As for the ACLU, it should stand for Altogether Crazy Liberals United! This is Just-A-Minute with Ed Boggess
The First Amendment of the Constitution says, quote, “the government shall neither establish a religion nor interfere with the practice of religion”. None of us want the government in the religion business. However, today the first amendment is being used as a tool to hamstring Christians. While Muslims freely use public property to spread their prayer rugs and conduct their rituals, Christians are banned from using public property for any expression of faith. “What’s fair for the goose is fair for the gander” is true no longer if the ACLU has its way.
