7-7-2017 Does God’s Angel Lie

As the Book of Revelation is being finished, John falls down to worship God’s angel who had showed these things to the Apostle. “Then he said to me, ‘See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.’ And he said to me, ‘Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand'” (Revelation 22:9-10 NKJV). First, angels must not be worshiped, for their message is only what God said. Only God is to be worshiped. Secondly, Christians who obey “this book,” are as acceptable to God as angels, Apostles, and the prophets. Third, the Book of Revelation prophecied only of events soon to happen, or “at hand.” Everyone who tries to see in the Book of Revelation hundreds or thousands of years in the future must be calling the angel of God a “liar!”

2-24-2017 Book Of Revelation Obeyed

John “bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near” (Revelation 1:2-3 NKJV). 1) Readers should “read,” “hear,” and “keep” what is written in a book “revealing Jesus.” That would be impossible if it describes events preceding the end of the world, or so open-ended that it is confusing and not clear!    2) The Book says “the time is near,” or “at hand,” meaning, close to the 1st Century readers, and closes with: “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand” (Revelation 22:10 NKJV). From beginning to end, the Book of Revelation dealt with 1st Century events, not future history!

2-9-2017 Kingdom Of God

Jesus physical resurrection has “infallible proofs.” He also spoke “of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God” (Acts 1:2-3 NKJV). What did Jesus say about “the kingdom of God?” 1) He said, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17 NKJV).  “At hand,” meant “close, near by.” 2) He said, “there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom” (Matthew 16:28 NKJV).  Either He lied, or else the kingdom came while people who heard Him were alive! 3) He said, “I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes” (Luke 22:18 NKJV). Either the kingdom came in the 1st Century, or there is no Lord’s Supper. Kingdom people observe it every 1st day of the week in the church of Christ (Acts 20:7)! The kingdom has come!
