1-6-2017 Who Is In Christ

“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:40 NKJV).  After His resurrection, Jesus added His baptism to belief: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16 NKJV). Paul wrote to the Galatians: “But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man” (Galatians 1:11 NKJV), and added: “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:26-27 NKJV).  According to Jesus, none are saved before baptism, and according to Paul, none are children of God before being “baptized into Christ.” Are you “in Christ?”

3-21-2016 None Are Saved IN Sin

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17 NKJV). This Scripture is often misunderstood by sinners, who think since God loves “the world,” and they are in “the world,” then they may already be saved, though they keep their sinful practices! But verse 19 says, “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19 NKJV). “The world” has people who reject Jesus’ “light,” and practice “evil.” God’s Son saves anyone in the world who will repent and come to Him.

3-22-2016 Sinners Need God’s Love

Everybody on earth needs to be loved. Many are the shattered, battered lives in people who think they are too vile for God to love them. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8 NKJV). The greatest demonstration of God’s love to sinners was Jesus’ death on the cross. Everyone must also know that “whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him” (1 John 2:5 NKJV). “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome” (1 John 5:3 NKJV). To every creature in “the world” Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned (Mark 16:16 NKJV). Accept His love by moving toward Him.

7-3-2015 Sin is Sin

No one asked Jesus, “Whose sin is greatest?” But we know the answer: someone else’s! Jesus said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man” (Mark 7:20-23 NKJV). Is morality what we don’t do? We don’t murder, but commit adultery? We don’t steal, but we covet? We’re not wicked, but are full of pride? No one’s sin is worse than ours, “because all sinned” (Romans 5:12 NKJV). Temptations are “common to man” (1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV), and so is sin! Jesus said: “preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:15-16 NKJV).

5-11-2015 What God Is Able To Do

John the Baptist told the Jews, “do not think to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones” (Matthew 3:9). Under the Gospel of Christ, Jews, “if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again” (Romans 11:23). And to Christians, “God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work” (2 Corinthians 9:8). God is able to by-pass the Jews, save obedient Israelites, help Christians serve Him. The issue is never what God is able to do – but what are you willing to do? Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16).
