11-30-2016 God Never Fails

“As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him” (Psalm 18:30 NKJV).  God’s Word has been proven true every time He has spoken.  The written Word of God, correctly understood, has never been wrong.  “The words of the LORD are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times” (Psalm 12:6 NKJV). People who think God has let them down or broken His Word, need to re-study the Bible.  “Thus says the LORD: ‘Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD’” (Jeremiah 17:5 NKJV).  People may repeatedly let us down, but God never has, and never will; and yet we’ll continue to vote for and trust those same people, and disbelieve in the God of Truth!

This is Johnny Polk, with “Words of Wisdom” brought to you by the Oneida church of Christ.

The Bible declares—twice—that God is ‘deceptive’

We teach our children the prayer, “God is good, God is great.”  How about we include in that prayer, “God is deceptive”? The Bible declares it not once, but twice. Continue reading

Is God Racist?

A certain segment of the American population has succeeded in perpetrating the notion of “political correctness” (PC) across a broad base of society. This ideology has infiltrated politics, education, and religion. While touted as a manifestation of “compassion” and “respect” for those with whom one disagrees, the fact is that PC seeks to silence any expression of disagreement that is not in line with its covert agenda.     Read >>

God Is Faithful

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Cor. 1:9).

No less than 10 times in the New Testament is God referred to as faithful. The word translated faithful means to be trustworthy, sure, true.

Our God is trustworthy. He will do exactly what He says He will do. God has always been faithful. He cannot be any other way.

In order for us to fully live for God we need to believe He will do for us what He said He would do. Sarah, the wife of Abraham, gave us a great example by receiving “strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised” (Hebrews 11:11).

God promises eternal life to all who obey Him (Hebrews 5:9). Do you believe it? You should because our God is faithful.

In Christ, Steve Preston
