Here’s a site I found today while scanning some Twitter posts. This gives us an idea of what the Lord’s church is up against in foreign countries (as well as our own country).
Here is an interdenominational mission agency in Thailand that is promoting the idea that baptism is not a part of the conversion process, but is simply an afterthought, i.e. “if you want to” (note the last paragraph).
This is why I added a question mark to the title of this article. Is God’s work really “continuing” with the promotion of this false teaching?
The devil is still hard at work deceiving folks (Revelation 12:9)..
From the opinion page of the El Paso Times http://www.elpasotimes.com/opinion/ci_16311617, comes the following observation by Rogelio Lopez:
“Everyone knows corruption and politics go hand in hand but nobody seems to want to break that bond.
Where did we lose the true meaning of this country? Why should all our “representatives” be millionaires and gaining?
How does that represent someone who lives off of Social Security?”
He then ends his article by saying, “I’m lost.”
My response to his statement: “Join the crowd, I’m lost as well, Mr. Lopez.”
When I was growing up, my family and I went to Canada one summer. That is one beautiful country, with all of its mountains, greenery, and waterfalls. Once, my music teacher and I took a Continue reading
On this 4th of July I feel compelled to say something about our country. I love to hear the stirring words of our Declaration of Independence. I marvel at the insight of mere men to construct the document we call the Constitution. No surprise, the contributors were heavily influenced by the Bible as can be seen in both writings. Yet as I write these words the powerful concepts of both the Declaration and Constitution are undermined at every turn. Our leaders seem to have developed an allergic reaction to anything based on Christian principles including these works of the founding fathers.
As a result our country is cascading into every kind of moral depravity. I lament the Sodom and Gomorrah style fall of this previously great nation. Our only solution is the same one offered to the church at Ephesus in Revelation chapter 2. “Remember the height from which (we) have fallen. “Repent and do the things (we) did at first.”
Can I broach a touchy subject? Do we really want to remain free? Let me be blunt. In the last election it didn’t seem like it. Part of the electorate was disillusioned, the rest appeared to be under a delusion. Christians, in this next round of elections let’s not behave like little children. What I mean by that is to not take our unused vote and go home. If this last election has taught us anything, it has taught of the necessity of voting for the lesser of two evils. I’m sure some people, even friends, disagree with this, but I needed to get it off my chest.
No matter how you feel this last thought, disconnecting ourselves from the process is not the answer. To all citizens of the United States, I implore you. Get involved. Let’s steer our country back to the ideals that made it great.
I listen to all genres of music (if they don’t consist of merely loud noise, that is). It’s sad that country music has degenerated down into nothing more than hollering and jumping up and down on stage. To my way of thinking, music generated without all of the present-day amplifiers, is the best music. Whatever happened to soft, soothing-to-the-soul music?

I’ve often wanted to visit Ireland, where many of my relatives originated from. It’s a beautiful country from what I’ve seen in this video:
How do I keep a good attitude? By maintaining a spiritual mindset – keeping focused on those things above – looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of my faith – looking for that “better country” (Colossians 3:1-2; Hebrews 12:1-2; Hebrews 11:16). Many times in my mind, I sing “This world Is not my home, I’m just a passing through.”
If we’ll think of this world as just our temporary dwelling place, and that we are nothing more than “strangers and pilgrims” on it (Hebrews 11:13), we’ll have a better attitude toward life and living.
Brethren, there’s something “better” ahead of us!
What is the State of the Brotherhood? It’s in a state better than our country is in – but not much better. Just as in government, we have “liberals” in the church that continue to present various teachings, not in accord with the New Testament.
There are churches of Christ who so want to be like the denominations round about them, that they’ll sacrifice Bible truth in order to engage in their unauthorized practices (1 Samuel 8:19-20; Colossians 3:17). However, this should be no surprise to us today, because Paul and Peter predicted this would occur (Acts 20:29-31; cf. 2 Peter 2:1-3).
