Update on yesterday's post about Duke University

Here’s an update from Fox News about the story that I linked to yesterday from Yahoo News concerning Duke University’s decision to promote the Muslim faith by allowing a prayer to be openly amplified and broadcast on the college campus. It’s an interesting read. Here’s a quick quote from the article that stuck out to me:

The idea of a historically Methodist university nearly turning its Christian cathedral to a mosque may very well be a first in the United States.

This quote, in reference to the action that was being sought, just reinforces the notion of delusion that I referenced in connection to the American culture and how complete the delusion is in the minds of many individuals and organizations. The Methodist denomination, amongst several others, seems to be, at the very least, a denomination that is riddled with such delusion due to the fact that 5 to 10 years ago the largest Methodist congregation in my hometown held a “universal” worship service which recognized a plurality of religions and false gods by lighting candles for them! I still have the circular that was issued to promote and celebrate the occasion. If one thinks about it, this situation sure seems to make a whole lot people in the Methodist church sound more like the philosophers of Athens than a “Christian” church.

When an individual is intentionally blind, deaf, dumb and numb to what the gospel of Christ is calling humanity to in connection to the devotion and worship of the one true God then how can anything else but delusion take place?

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”” (Acts 17:30-31)

Strong delusion for the weak mind

Supporting the call of the gospel of Jesus the Christ upon a college campus? That’s not right says many in the world of academia and liberal-minded politics. If Federal dollars are involved in any way then such support would indicate a union between church and state. This has been repeated so much over the last couple of decades that the speakers of the mantra are bluer in the face than the field of ole’ glory.

Supporting the call to Muslim Friday prayers upon a college campus? That’s perfectly fine according to some in the world academia and liberal-minded politics. Federal dollars are involved but such a public announcement concerning matters of religion is fine; since there is no church involved it can’t be a union of “church” and state, right? Now those who have been on the receiving end of the “church and state” mantra have been left seeing stars after having smacked ourselves on the forehead for not understanding that the deluded aren’t interested in reality.

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12)
